Ohio Just Achieved a Historic Business Milestone, and Small Businesses Are Celebrating

Ohio Receives National Recognition for Business Environment
The National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) has hailed the acknowledgment of Ohio as one of the best states to conduct businesses by CNBC's recent ranking of best states for business. The NFIB applauded the state's initiative in fostering a conducive atmosphere for business by virtue of policies and investments that have been able to lure companies and promote entrepreneurship.
It has come to light in CNBC's recent ranking of America's top states for business that Ohio has scored its highest ever ranking in the annual ranking.
NFIB Says Small Businesses Benefit from Pro-Growth Policies
NFIB noted that it is particularly significant for Ohio's small businesses that the state is successful. NFIB stressed that small businesses do well where the government is concentrating on policies that lower costs, make things easier, and invest.
The organization highlighted that the state government provided the right environment for entrepreneurs who were able to grow their companies, hire workers, and add to the economy. As NFIB put it, Ohio provides a great example of how consistent economic policy may benefit businesses.
Strong Performance Across Key Business Categories
Ohio showed great performance in several factors that affect investments in businesses.
The state ranked number one for infrastructure due to its well-developed highway system, rail system, logistics facilities, and constant investments in ready-to-use industrial parks. Ohio also ranked second in cost of doing business thanks to the fact that there is no corporate income tax and to certain amendments made, which raised commercial activity tax exclusion and thus lowered taxes for many businesses.
Workforce development was another factor that boosted the good performance of Ohio. There is a work force of more than 5.5 million people in Ohio that is constantly being trained and attracted. Additionally, Ohio ranks among top states in the USA in terms of affordability, innovation, capital availability, and education.
State Leaders Highlight Ohio's Competitive Advantages
The state officials of Ohio have attributed their success in being ranked number two among the best places for doing business to their ongoing policy of investing in infrastructure, making sure that they maintain low living costs, minimizing bureaucratic red tape, and promoting business growth. They cited availability of energy, sites ready for construction, diverse economy, and skilled labor as the main reasons why firms continue to prefer investing in Ohio.
Recognition Signals Continued Opportunity
According to NFIB, having Ohio recognized as a leader among other states in the country would be sending out a positive signal to entrepreneurs, investors, and even employers who have plans of expanding their businesses. In the statement, NFIB added that it is important for the state to continue pursuing policies that would ensure that the state retains its competitive advantage and that there would be more small businesses created.
It is clear that competition among different states in seeking investments is becoming increasingly tough, and the fact that Ohio is performing well in the ranking by CNBC makes Ohio a state of choice for entrepreneurs.
