Community Raises Concerns Over Rebuilding Plans

Cold chain logistics leader Lineage is receiving pushback from the community as it plans on building a new cold storage warehouse in Los Angeles after the devastating fire that engulfed the facility in June. Lineage has begun talks with the city council about reconstructing the more than half a million square feet warehouse facility. However, members of the community have called for the rebuilding process to be delayed until the effects of the fire on the environment have been assessed.

Fire Left Lasting Impact on Neighborhood

The warehouse that burned down was located in Boyle Heights, where it burned down during June. Smoke from the burning warehouse spread throughout nearby communities, raising issues of air pollution and exposure to harmful chemicals.
