MetroNational Expands Its Footprint with CityCentre Retail Acquisition

MetroNational, the developer behind Memorial City, has completed the acquisition of the 309,144-square-foot retail component of CityCentre, a prominent mixed-use development located at I-10 and Beltway 8 in Houston. This move builds on the company’s earlier August 2025 purchase of the 442,042-square-foot Class AA office tower at 990 Town & Country Boulevard, which anchors the northern gateway of the CityCentre development. The acquisition strengthens MetroNational’s presence in West Houston and reflects its commitment to creating dynamic and integrated urban environments.
A Vibrant Retail Destination
CityCentre's retail hub, established in 2009, offers a diverse array of approximately two dozen food and beverage concepts. These range from fast-casual eateries to fine dining establishments. Signature dining destinations include Bellagreen, Daily Gather, Eddie V’s Prime Seafood, Grimaldi’s Pizzeria, Hopdoddy Burger Bar, North Italia, Sal y Pimienta, Seasons 52, The Capital Grille, and Yard House. The retail mix adds further appeal, featuring prominent brands such as Allen Edmonds, Anthropologie, Kendra Scott, Sephora, Sur la Table, Tecovas, Warby Parker, and West Elm. Entertainment options such as Star Cinema Grill and The Escape Room complete the experience, making CityCentre a destination for shopping, dining, and leisure.
Redevelopment Plans with Radom Capital
MetroNational plans to collaborate with Radom Capital to redevelop CityCentre’s retail space and elevate the overall experience for visitors. The partnership will focus on reimagining the center, enhancing both its aesthetic and functional appeal. This collaboration builds on the companies’ previous joint venture, the Greenside project, which has successfully transformed former industrial buildings in Memorial City into a family-friendly retail and dining destination. The CityCentre redevelopment is expected to draw from these learnings, blending creativity and community-focused design to reinforce the center’s vibrancy.
Strengthening Memorial City's Legacy
The acquisition aligns with MetroNational’s vision of creating a "city within a city." By integrating CityCentre’s retail component into its existing portfolio, which includes Memorial City Mall, Gateway Memorial City, Hotel ZaZa Memorial City, and Memorial Hermann Tower, MetroNational consolidates its position as a leading developer in the region. The expansion enhances the company’s ability to offer a cohesive, multi-use urban environment that meets the growing demands of residents and visitors alike.
Future Outlook
CityCentre’s retail acquisition underscores MetroNational’s commitment to long-term growth and community enrichment in Houston. As redevelopment plans take shape in collaboration with Radom Capital, the center is poised to attract new visitors and elevate the overall experience. MetroNational’s strategic approach promises to reinforce CityCentre’s reputation as a premier destination for shopping, dining, and entertainment in West Houston while supporting the continued evolution of the city’s urban landscape.
