This Cybersecurity Stock Is Surging 80%—Is Mitek Systems the Next Big AI Winner?

Mitek Systems is attracting the attention of investors as companies are encountering an increasing number of fraud cases backed by artificial intelligence. The cybersecurity firm, whose offerings include products on verification, authentication and prevention of fraud, has recorded an increase of over 80% in share prices for the year 2026.
Strong Earnings Support Mitek Stock
Mitek reported better-than-expected fiscal third-quarter earnings on August 6. Adjusted earnings jumped 54% from a year ago to 34 cents per share, while revenue grew 18% to $54 million. Analysts had estimated adjusted earnings of 28 cents per share and revenue of $50.8 million.
The firm said its clients are processing an increasing number of transactions through Mitek platforms as they attempt to safeguard themselves against AI-based fraud. SaaS revenue grew 18% as well, helping Mitek report its best quarter ever in terms of revenues and profitability.
Mitek now expects to generate fiscal 2026 revenues between $195 million and $200 million versus its earlier projection of $189 million to $198 million. According to Mitek’s chief executive Edward Hamilton West, the firm is convinced that its products are well-equipped to fight growing digital fraud enabled by AI.
Stock Recovers After July Decline
During the week, Mitek’s share prices increased by almost 5%, and crossed their 10-week moving average mark. Its shares were trading around $19 on Friday and nearing a buy point of $21.05, which is set on July 1.
Its shares declined by almost 25% from its high on July 1 until they reached $15.83 on July 23. This happened along with the general sell-off in technology stocks where both the Nasdaq Composite Index and iShares Expanded Tech-Software Sector ETF decreased by 2.2%.
Mitek’s share price increased by 10% on August 7 due to its earnings report.
Investor Interest Remains Mixed
Mitek has a 94 rating for IBD Composite, and 88 for Earnings Per Share. It has an Up/Down Volume ratio of 1.9, demonstrating that there is better institutional demand during the past 50 trading days.
Still, Mitek has only an Accumulation/Distribution rating of D, suggesting that there has been no substantial recent buying from funds. The analysts' forecast for Mitek is that its profits in the fourth quarter will drop by some 30% compared to the same quarter a year ago.
Mitek works with over 7,000 clients including American Express, Experian and Intuit.
